These two video clips are courtesy of Professor Charles Branch at the University of Auburn, Alabama. Charles wears two hats; he is Professor of Physiology and Director of Information Systems for the College of Veterinary Medicine. The clips were shot by Charles Branch and Larry Moore, the Director of Biomedical Communications.
These clips will be interesting to compare for compression. One (HummBird.avi) was shot without a shutter; the other (HummBirdShutter.avi) was shot using a fast shutter. This means that the frames of the first clip are blurred where there is rapid motion; whereas everything is sharp in the shuttered clip. The shuttered clip makes much better stills, but is more temporally aliased (which is apparent when it is played). I would expect the shuttered clip to be more difficult to compress. (Do not be confused by the file sizes; the unshuttered clip is about five seconds, the shuttered version is only 2 seconds.)
