Simulated Auroral images

This is a set of simulated images of the model aurora. The simulation process for these images is perfect - that is there are no noise, no measurment noise and norandom photon statistical noice. In the real measurements with the ALIS CCD cameras the noise that is limiting the accuracy seems to be the randomness of the photon emission.

This is the model aurora seen from ALIS station 1 in Kiruna.

This is the model aurora seen from ALIS station 2 in Merasjaervi.

This is the model aurora seen from ALIS station 3 in Silkimuotka.

This is the model aurora seen from ALIS station 4 in Tjautjas.

This is the model aurora seen from ALIS station 5 in Abisko.

This is the model aurora seen from ALIS station 6 in Nikkaluokta.

For some reason the quality of these images is somewhat bad.

Another point that should be made is that the various rotations of the cameras and the different viewing direction makes it a little difficult to point out the direction to north and east, but in images #1 - #4 north is to the left, in image #5 north is to the lower left corner and in image #6 north is downwards
