Trace Gas Measurements at IRF

FTIR Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer

The Fourier Transform Infrared spectrometer is owned by KIT and has been installed at IRF Kiruna in 1996. Since then measurements have been performed regularly. Because the FTIR conducts measurements against the sun (solar occultation measurements), the instrument cannot measure when clouds cover the sky. Also during the dark winter period with the sun below the horizon measurements are impossible.
