About Us

The trace gas monitoring endeavour is part of the Observatory activities while research on the results is performed within the Solar Terrestrial and Atmospheric Research programme>).

Our measurements are for the time being focused on Ozone and Carbon Monoxide in the stratosphere and mesosphere.

While KIMRA is an observatory instrument belonging to IRF the MIRA2 system  and the FTIR belong to the Institute of Meteorology and Climate Research - Atmospheric Trace Gas and Remopte Sensing (IMK-ASF) within the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). The DOAS-system is owned by  the  'Max Planck-Institut für Chemie' in Germany (MPIC).
