On 11 February 2013, Maria Mihalikova (Swedish Institute of Space Physics and Luleå University of Technology) defended her PhD thesis "Mesoscale processes in the polar atmosphere : radar remote sensing, balloon-borne in situ measurements and modelling" in the Aula at the Kiruna Space Campus. The faculty opponent was Suzanne Gray, Dept of Meteorology, University of Reading, Reading, United Kingdom.
