Scaled Ionograms from the Swedish Ionosondes
Select the date for one day ionograms or the same or another date for the scaled data.
Click on getGrams to get the ionograms displayed. Click on getScaled to get the scaled data.
Printed jonograms are here!!
How to get the density profile with help of Polan.
Display the actual ionogram. (Selfevident)
Click on scaling/notPolan and you will get polan/notScaling. (Selfevident)
Define the ordinary trace by clicking and arranging it in several subtraces.
Click on getProfileWithPolan.
After some seconds you will get the profile displayed in white on the ionogram!
There are two types of subtraces:
Trace with finite stop in height
and
trace with infinite stop in height; asymptote in frequency.
To create the first type of trace you follow and click on the ordinary trace
until you get to the end of the current subtrace; a following click in the
the little rectangle at the origin will end the trace by showing a filled circle in the
last trace point.
To create the second type of trace you do as in the first case but to end the trace
you click outside the little rectangle but to the left of your latest click, which will
define the frequency for the asymptote.
All clicking has to be inside the ionogram area.
All clicking up to now is made by the left button and strictly from left to right whithin a subtrace.
You can erase the latest trace point by clicking with the right button.
At this moment there is no way to define extraordinary traces!
Lastly you click on the text: "getProfileWithPolan" and after a second or two
You get a white graph illustrating the charge density (plasma frequency) as a function of height;
the free electron density profile.
You need at least 10 points to get the profile back.
At this moment there is a way to save the profile; here you will find the saved ones!.
