Modeling the Interaction Between the Moon and the Solar Wind. Part II

Abstract
We describe recent developments of our hybrid model (particle ions, fluid electrons) of the Moon-solar wind interaction. We have improved the handling of vacuum regions, non-uniform resistivity, and the inclusion of external magnetic fields.
Using the new code we investigate the effects of non-uniform internal resistivity on the Moon-solar wind interaction. From seismic and magnetic field measurements it is inferred that the Moon should have a conducting core, surrounded by a resistive shell. How does precence of a core modify the solar wind interaction? Are the effects observable?
Finally we outline work in progress using the new model, such as the effects of Lunar magnetic anomalies and the plasma interactions of Jupiter's moon Callisto.
