Abstract
Starting with a brief introduction of the history of space observation and satellite programs, this talk will present the road map of space science programs and the Strategic Pioneer Program (SPP) on Space Science recently implemented by the Chinese government. The SPP includes launching of 5 new space science missions in the next 5 years and selecting and support 6-7 new space science missions for implementation in the period of 2016-2020. The 5 new missions will be launched are Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope, the Quantum Science Experiment Satellite, the Dark Matter Detection Satellite, the SJ-10 recoverable microgravity science satellite and KUAFU mission. The future missions under intensive studies are X-ray timing and polarization (XTP), Space VLBI, Solar Polar ORbit Telescope (SPORT) and Magnetosphere-Ionosphere-Thermosphere Coupling Mission (MIT) and more. Short presentations of each of the above missions will be given.
