Ionospheric conductivities in ionospheres of planets and planet-like bodies with induced magnetospheres

Abstract
We have analysed data from Cassini for Titan and MGS
for Mars to derive ionospheric conductivities for these two
interesting "planets". We found that at bodies with no intrinsic
magnetospheres the electron Pedersen conductivity can
no longer be neglected, which leads to very strong and different
conductivity profiles for such ionospheres,
In consequence also the 3-d flow of currents will be different
from Earth, but nevertheless important for the coupling to the
surrounding space plasma.
