The EISCAT_3D is slowly but steadily approaching to its green sign for early 2020's operation. This opens up new generation of satellite-ground based conjugate study. IRF Kiruna is involved in three such satellite missions that relay heavily on the EISCAT_3D ability: I3sat for Swedish InnoSat with 2020 launch (proposed 30 June), ESCAPE for ESA M5 with 2029 launch (deadline 5 Oct), and MIT trio/quartet for Japanese M3/M4 with 2023-2024 launch (started negotiation). These missions are briefly presented.
