Abstract.
Statistical behaviors of magnetospheric currents determined from observations of space-borne magnetometers
Magnetometers are among the most widely used instruments in space exploratory, due to their electronic simplicity and low weight. Magnetometer observations facilitate exploring configurations of space current systems. The current seminar illustrates the characters of few space current systems determined individually from the observation of magnetometers onboard CHAMP, Swarm, VEX, and MESSENGER, and the responses of the currents to different geospace condition change. Also introduced are the statistical approaches, tailored according to the spatial-temporal data coverage and characterizes of the current systems, and including multivariate analysis, regression analysis, and empirical modeling methods.
