Abstract
The Solar Wind Ion Detectors (SWIDs) on Chang'E-1 lunar orbiter can measure directional energy spectrum of ions on a circular orbit of 100-200km above the lunar surface. From the data, several new phenomena related with the solar wind interaction with the Moon are identified. The observations include the acceleration of scattered solar wind protons in the polar terminator regions and the existence of a pick-up ion species with mass/charge ratio of 2, which might be (H2)+ ions generated in the lunar H2 exosphere and picked up by the IMF.
